Creative Network

LCC’s Creative Network is designed to support, promote, and amplify the voices and work of our chronic illness & advocacy community. Through sponsorship, funding, publicity and collaboration opportunities, the Collective aims to create a safe space for creatives to let their skills and stories shine, and offer a path for anyone healing through chronic illness to explore their experience through art.

Long COVID: The Full Picture

Long COVID: The Full Picture is an LCC-sponsored documentary photography project that aims to tell the urgent, underrepresented stories of women living with Long COVID. At a time when public and institutional attention to the pandemic’s long-term impacts is waning, this project visually documents the daily realities of those still living with its aftermath. Through intimate and collaborative photographic work, the project explores how Long COVID reshapes identity, labor, health, and care, especially for women, who continue to shoulder an unequal burden in both the workforce and the home. By capturing these stories, the project combats the systemic erasure of long COVID and preserves a critical chapter in our living history.

Gallery showing debut coming this fall!

About the artist

For professional photographer and Collective co-founder Virginia Hernandez, this project is deeply personal.

“My interest in long COVID began through my close friend Maggie, whose life was profoundly altered by the illness. As I watched her navigate a radically changed daily existence with resilience, pain, and invisibility, I began to understand the larger crisis being overlooked. Her story, and those of countless others, have driven me to make this project a platform, one that not only documents but also affirms and advocates.”
